Chapter 108 - Departure
"I need to go on a business trip tomorrow." Mo Han stared intensely into An Luxia\'s eyes, catching any movement. In her bright and round eyes, he noticed a quick flash of disappointment, or was it. . . nervousness?
An Luxia looked down and shrugged, "Oh, okay. . . How long are you going for?"
She reached over to pick up a small piece of cucumber, but no matter how many times she tried, the cucumber kept on slipping through her chopsticks. She finally sighed and gave up, turning to eat from the other dishes, avoiding Mo Han\'s eyes.
"Possibly. . . A long time." After saying this, Mo Han noticed An Luxia\'s hand holding the chopsticks freeze for a second before it continued to move.
An Luxia smiled a little crookedly, "What\'s happening? Why are you going. . . where are you going?"
Mo Han put down his bowl and chopsticks and looked towards An Luxia seriously, "There is some trouble in our business in Country B, so I have to go there and figure some things out."
An Luxia nodded, continuing to eat, "Okay."
"I\'ll come back as soon as possible."
"Mhm," An Luxia responded, continuing to eat with her head buried into her bowl.
"Look at me," Mo Han said, reaching his arm forward and gently grabbing onto her chin with his hand. He lifted her face up, forcing her to look at him.
An Luxia was still eating, and a bit of rice was stuck to the edge of her lips as she looked at Mo Han. Mo Han gulped, staring at her before slowly leaning forward towards her, tilting his face as he skillfully used his tongue to "clean up" the food on the edge of her lips and then directly moved to "eat" her lips themselves.
An Luxia dropped her chopsticks and her eyes widened slightly until several seconds later, she finally returned the kiss.
The kiss was long and beautiful, but in the midst of it, there was also a little bit of sadness. . .
After what seemed like forever, Mo Han finally let go of her lips and said, "An Luxia, wait for me."
His voice was slightly hoarse as he sat back down. An Luxia stared at her, a little uncomfortably in the heavy atmosphere so she responded, "If I meet someone who is more handsome than you, richer than you, and nicer to me, then I can\'t promise that I will wait for you to come back!"
Once she said that, the temperature inside the room immediately froze as the heavy atmosphere only got even worse.
Mo Han stared at her, raising one eyebrow, and she stared back, not in the least afraid of him. Instead, she lifted a corner of her lips up slightly, almost as if she was challenging him.
Suddenly, Mo Han jumped up from his chair, pushing it back so hard it fell back to the ground. He walked quickly towards her, bent down, lifted her up from her chair, and carried her out of the dining room and towards the direction of the room.
"Ah! Mo Han! What are you doing?!"
Mo Han glared at her, the one smiling was him now, "I need you to remember me when I\'m gone! So even if another man comes by, you shall never forget me!"
Then, he kicked the door to the room open and closed it, throwing her onto the bed, knowing that the bed was soft so she wouldn\'t get hurt.
An Luxia was at a loss for words, instantly regretting trying to joke around with Mo Han.
This night was definitely going to be a very tiring night. . .
---
The next morning, An Luxia woke up from Mo Han\'s kisses. His eyes stared deeply into hers, and she blinked a few times before whimpering, "Mo Han. . ."
Then, she wrapped her arms around his strong and sturdy waist, moving closer to him, resting her face against his warm chest.
Mo Han let out a breath of relief and looked down at her pale and smooth skin. He couldn\'t help but kiss her again, causing her to raise her eyebrows, moving closer to him.
"Wait for me to come back," he said again.
An Luxia nodded slightly in response, letting the silence sink in.
"An Luxia." Mo Han suddenly said.
"Hm?" An Luxia looked up slightly, meeting his eyes.
"I love you!" Mo Han suddenly said, louder than his tone a moment ago.
". . ." An Luxia did not say anything from surprise and shock from the sudden confession, and she could hear her own heartbeat, beating strong and loudly in her own ears.
She did not say anything in return, because she wanted to say it to him after he returned.
---
When Mo Han left, An Luxia was sitting outside on the balcony finishing a chapter of her story. She looked out the balcony and saw him enter the car.
He did not look back as he entered, but she continued to look at him. They had said their goodbyes already but An Luxia still felt a pain in her heart as she watched him leave.
But he would come back soon. . . she told herself.
She stopped typing and watched as the car left the gate and then went down the mountain, and before long, it was completely out of sight.
She then turned her attention to the vase on the balcony with pink roses in it. There were seven buds, all yet to bloom. The one in the middle was in full bloom already and the others were slowly catching up.
They swayed gently in the winter wind, almost as if they were saying goodbye as well.
Maybe, after all of these flowers had bloomed, he would be back. An Luxia smiled as she thought of this and then closed her laptop to return back into her room.
However, her thoughts were more than wrong. She stayed in the house for several, going to school like usual. However, the flowers bloomed and died three times already, yet Mo Han was still not back.
He did not call her, and she also didn\'t call him. If she didn\'t call him, then there would be a surprise when he did come back! Thinking like this made the situation a little more hopeful.
Wait just a little more.
She continued to go to school and then came back home excitedly, hoping to see the black car with the familiar car plate number back inside the parking lot when she came back home.
However, each day passed and the pedals on the roses continued to wither and drop until the ground one by one.
---
This day was the start of a new week, and An Luxia woke up early to go to school. She quickly pushed upload on a chapter, and as her story was getting more and more popular, she had to force herself to stay up later and wake up earlier to write for her readers.
However, another reason behind her sleeping later was because it felt weird to have the space next to her on the bed empty. She couldn\'t fall asleep.
She entered the car and they drove to school. Everyone had stopped talking about why Li Yilan was suddenly gone, but you would hear of some rumors about her once in a while.
Besides An Luxia, no one knows where Li Yilan had gone. Even Yu Xinyi did not know. An Luxia did not find a need to tell anyone what had happened between her and Li Yilan.
She entered her classroom and found Yu Xinyi sitting in the second row. She joined her and quickly pulled out her notebook since the class was starting.
Yu Xinyi looked towards her and raised one eyebrow, "Still missing your husband?"
An Luxia glanced at her and rolled her eyes, "Ch! At least I have a husband! When are you ever going to tell my brother you like him?! How can you be such a coward?! Over 10 years! 10 years! Yu Xinyi, when are you ever going to confess?"
Yu Xinyi gulped and looked away, shrugging it off, "Soon, soon."
"Ch! You always say that." An Luxia successfully drew the attention away from talking about Mo Han being gone, and she also looked away as she took out a pencil. They stopped talking as the professor walked in.
However, the professor was not alone.
There was another girl standing next to the professor, and the girl seemed to be quite young. She was wearing a white dress and looked very cute and elegant, walking in with a smile.
Everyone looked towards her, and she scanned the room. Her eyes seemed to land on An Luxia, but she could not be sure.
An Luxia smiled at her and she smiled back, which proved that the new girl was definitely looking at An Luxia.
The professor stopped and cleared his throat, "Attention, everyone. We have a new student. Please introduce you."
The girl smiled sweetly and said, "Hi everyone. I\'m Shen Liya. Nice to meet all of you!"
The room broke into applause and the professor quickly quieted everyone down to start the class. The girl walked towards the seats and stopped at the second row, looking towards An Luxia with a smile and pointing to the seat next to An Luxia, "May I sit here?"
