Chapter 19 - Adventurers guild is busy
Chapter 19 - Adventurers guild is busy
I left the Magic Academy and returned home.
We had a nice dinner with Elsa who came back from Knight\'s Order duty after dark and Meryl who came back from Magic Academy.
I heard in the morning that Anna was too busy and could not go home.
Perhaps she was working overtime in the Adventurers Guild.
After finished dinner, I picked her up at the Adventurers Guild.
In the guild, which was late at night, the adventurers were not seen, but the staffs were still busy.
"Aah. I\'m going to die due to overwork."
Monica, the receptionist, was whining.
"I thought if I became a receptionist in the guild, I could go home at a fixed time every day, get paid a lot, and marry a handsome adventurer."
"Monica-chan. It\'s better if you move your hands than have an unrealistic dream. Otherwise, you won\'t be able to go home before the day changes."
"Hiiii!"
"Both of you, Good job," I said.
"Ah! Kaizer-san!"
"Papa, why?"
"Anna is working overtime, so I came to see"
“Thank you. But then, isn\'t it boring to just waiting? Oh yes, Papa. Can you do these paperworks for me?”
"Eee~?"
"I\'m lack of hands. So, please."
"Kaizer-san! I would appreciate your help! If this keeps this way, we will be at work until morning!"
Anna and Monica put their hands together begged to ask for help.
"Well. If that\'s the case... but is it okay? I\'m even not a guild staff member, so to take on paperwork is."
Mainly in the confidentiality sense.
"No problem. I\'m the one responsible for this adventurer\'s guild. And it\'s impossible for Papa to pass on sensitive information to others."
She trusted me a lot.
I received the documents from Anna and decided to work on paperwork. Due to extra manpower, it was cleared up before the day changed.
"It\'s ovee~r."
Monica said while stretching widely.
"I am grateful that Kaizer-san was here. You can do paperwork too! There was no mistake and it was quick!"
"Papa can do whatever. Anyway, now that our works have done, do you want to have a drink?"
"Good! If it is a treat, I\'ll go!"
Monica cheerfully responded to Anna\'s invitation.
"You\'re a materialistic-gurl, yes. How about you, Papa?"
"Yeah, of course I\'ll come too."
"It\'s settled! So, let\'s go."
We left the Adventurers Guild and came to a tavern on the street.
It was crowded with the regulars and adventurers.
We took a table in the back and ordered drinks and food. After a short while, the table became lively filled with drinks and food.
"Well then, Monica-chan, Papa. Thank you for your hard work today."
""Cheeerrs~""
When we clinked our cups together, we swallowed the ale.
The bitter, cold liquid drained through the throat and seeped into the body.
"The day when I will have a drink with my daughter, eventually come..."
I muttered so.
Someone was allowed to drink after reach the age of 16.
When I thought about it, a long time had passed.
"Speaking of which, Anna seems to be calling you as Monica-chan. Are you younger than Anna?"
"Fuffuffuu. Kaizer-san. How old do I look?"
"Around sixteen?"
"Bingo! I\'m the second youngest in the guild after to Anna-san. Anna-san\'s been very good to me."
Monica smiled at Anna, "Right?"
"Yeah. Mostly in terms of cleaning up the work."
"Harsh!"
Monica tapped her own forehead.
"Well, the one person in the guild that I get along with the most is Monica-chan. The others aren\'t pleasant to me."
"So that\'s it?"
"Eee, I, am the youngest guild master in history. As the proverb says \'the nail that sticks out gets hammered in\', the jealousy and envy toward me were great."
"Are you alright?"
"Fufu. Thank you for your concern. I\'m already used to it."
Anna smiled.
"Rather, It\'s more difficult to deal with the huge number of requests that come in every day and to deal with adventurers who have one or two habits."
"Really, it was really murderous, wasn\'t it."
Monica muttered in sympathy.
"Since Anna is the guild master, there\'s still in trouble, though. But, if it was the former guild master, we\'d be out of order."
"With all the works, there\'s just a little time to relax....."
"That\'s right. All the girls my age seem to have fun with their lovers. I wish I could find a wonderful love story too."
Monica sighed with leaned her cheeks on her hand.
"Kaizer-san. Anna is very popular, you know."
"Ee? Is it right?" I asked.
"Yes. She\'s often asked to go out by adventurers."
"Oh really……"
"Ah! Kaizer-san. Are you upset? Of course it is, right. To think your precious daughter will be taken away by someone."
"I\'m not upset, because Anna is at that age. It\'s not strange for her to have one or two lovers."
I made an excuse in a hurry.
"I\'m just, worried that Anna might have fallen for some a weird guy. I\'ll never forgive anyone who makes Anna unhappy."
"Ooh! Papa\'s spirit is on fire!"
I wouldn\'t forgive anyone who makes Anna cry.
I want my daughters to build a happy family.
"Sorry about the heat up, but I\'m not dating anyone. It\'s true that adventurers often invited me."
"Eh? Is that so?"
"Why did you refuse it? What a waste! You could at least go on one date and then determined it afterward!", Monica said.
"Since I was little, I grew up watching Papa\'s appearance. Compared to him, no one is dependable," she said.
"Anna-san. You often say when you get drunk. If you get married, the one who will be your husband must be someone like your Papa."
"Yes. He must be as strong as Papa, as reliable as Papa, and as kind as Papa."
"Kaizer-san has never lost to Elsa-san, isn\'t he?"
"Yeah, so you know. There\'s no man like a Papa. He\'s an especially strong and dependable person I\'ve ever known.."
Anna murmured and looked into my eyes then said.
"Papa. If I wouldn\'t be able to marry anyone and too late. You\'ll have to take responsibility and marry me."
"Anna. You have a red face. Are you drunk?"
"I\'m drunk. If I\'m not drunk, I won\'t say this."
Anna\'s eyes were soft.
"Meryl is always going around mentioning how much she loves Papa.... I don\'t say about it, but I have just as much love as she does...."
"Anna..."
Anna rested her head on her crossed arms on the table,
"Suu~..."
She started to sleep.
"Arara, Anna-san, she has fallen asleep."
"I will take her home"
"I\'ve never seen Anna-san be so spoiled like that before. She has always had a cool image at work."
"Is that so"
"Anna-san, You really love Kaizer-san, yes... It\'s true that Kaiser-san is really cool."
Monica smiled and said.
"Shall I pay?"
"If you\'re told that far, can\'t we just afford to split it up?"
"Yattaa! Operation succeeded!"
"Haha. You got one."
Once I had paid my bill, I went outside with Anna on my back. After parting with Monica, I walked toward home.
"...Papa. Luv yu."
Those words were leaked out as she slept.
"Geez, I\'ve weakened."
I had a bitter smile.
As a parent, I suppose I should be concerned about my daughter would leave. But I didn\'t feel bad when my daughter told me she liked me.
