Chapter 51 Dont worry
"He’s finally asleep." She sighed in relief. "He’s too excited in going to school tomorrow."
"Are you worried?" Lu Yifeng asked. He was leaning against the wall as he looked at her with his usual expressionless face.
She nodded a bit. "Yes... I’m nervous and worried for him." She looked at him. "Will he be alright in that school?"
He raised his hand and patted her head. "Don’t worry, I have planted my men in that school. They will watch over our son."
She blinked a few times, "You did?"
"Yes. He’ll be safe. I have chosen my best men to watch over him." Lu Yifeng wanted to make sure that no one will try to harm his son in that school after all, there were enemies in the dark, watching his movements.
This warmed her heart when she saw how concerned he was for their son. "Thank you..."
"You don’t have to thank me." He held her hand and kissed the back of it.
Her cheeks became red and she instantly pulled her hand back. "I-I will go back to my room. Good night."
She quickly turned and run away from him. This was something normal now. Ever since that night, whenever he tries to make a move towards her, she would always find a way to flee from him.
Xia Meilin entered the room and leaned her back against the door. Lu Yifeng was becoming bolder and bolder as days pass by and she was starting to get nervous because of the strange feelings that started to grow inside her.
----
The next day, Xia Meilin helped her son in preparing him for school. After having their breakfast, Lu Yifeng and Xia Meilin went to drop Little Melon.
Going out of the car, Little Melon saw the other children by the gate. Children at his age were crying, not wanting to leave their parents. They were also scared in being in a new environment without their parents.
Little Melon turned to his parents and smiled. "Don’t worry, momma, dada, Mello won’t cry."
Instead, the one who was tearing up was his mother. Xia Meilin’s eyes became misty. She kneeled in front of him and pulled him into a hug. "Baaabbbyy..."
Little Melon was different from other children, he understands things easily as long it was explained to him in a nice way.
"Momma, no crying, okay? It’s just like when momma and dada goes to work, right? It’s just a few hours that momma, Mello and dada won’t be together. Think that Mello’s going to work too." He patted her cheeks with his small hands.
What he said made Xia Meilin want to tear up more but she tried her best not to cry in front of her son. She pulled away from the hug and placed her hands on his shoulders. "Eat your food and finish them, okay? I will pick you up later so wait for me. Don’t trust or talk to any strangers. If someone tries to approach you, go inside the school building and look for your teacher, okay?"
"Momma is worrying too much." Little Melon pouted cutely. "But don’t worry, momma. Mello remembers everything momma said."
Lu Yifeng leaned down and patted Little Melon’s head. "We will come and pick you up later. Be good, okay?"
Little Melon nodded happily. "Yes, dada. Mello should go now or else Mello will be late."
"Okay, I will watch over your mother while you’re away." Lu Yifeng said with a smile.
Little Melon kissed his mother and father on their cheeks before he runs toward the teacher that was waiting for the kids.
The teacher looked at Lu Yifeng and nodded before she took the kids inside.
Xia Meilin stood up and watched her son go. Lu Yifeng placed his arm around her shoulder. "Don’t worry, he’ll be fine. He’s our son. I have my eyes on him."
She turned and faced him. She was comforted by the words he said. "Thank you, Mr. Lu."
"You can just call me by my name, you are my wife, there’s no need to be polite with me." He gently stroked her arm.
She was easily flustered whenever he tries to make a move at her. Xia Meilin quickly leaned away from him before she fleed from him, entering the car.
Lu Yifeng let out a small chuckle before he followed her in the car, sitting beside her.
But as he did, Xia Meilin moved and sat in the corner, putting some space between them.
He couldn’t help but sigh inwardly at this. It was not like he was going to eat her. He’s not going to eat her... yet.
