Chapter 173 - I Enjoy Bullying Others in Numbers
There was an old saying that went like this: No one can stop a gangster who knows martial arts.
However, this hooligan’s ability to act cute was obviously mightier than knowing martial arts.
Hong Dali felt like hitting him but yet found it embarrassing to do so because he was, after all, his own die-hard fan. But if he didn’t hit him, letting him hug his leg in public under the view of hundreds was extremely inappropriate. Hong Dali was thus very torn. He was usually quick-witted, but he was stumped this time. He thought about it for a long while before finally clenching his teeth and saying, “Get up and I’ll sign you an autograph!”
“Autograph!” The hooligan perked up upon hearing that word. He rushed into the crowd shouting, “Brothers, come quickly! Chuichui said that he will sign his autograph for us if we serve him!”
“That’s not what I said...” Hong Dali was about going to deny it, but Tang Muxin pulled him vigorously. Hong Dali suddenly understood. He said, “That’s right. Follow me, and I’ll sign my autograph for you. You might even have a chance to be on screen in the future!”
To think Hong Dali shamelessly admitted it!
At that instance, about one-third of the hooligans surged up towards him noisily. What a rapid change in loyalty. Even the inept advisor Hai Qingtian who had been in the triads for more than a decade was speechless. Oh my, you’re going against the heavens!
This was when the situation got interesting.
The big group of hooligans was called over to buff up the numbers. Their loyalty was already questionable. They might still be able to handle it if they were needed to fight in a sure-win battle or to just wave the flags and shout. But against the super-rich Hong Dali, they were sure to suffer absolute defeat.
That was how this eye-popping scene unfolded.
Hong Dali had someone move a writing desk and had a notebook handed to him. It was just a regular handwriting practice book. He then plonked himself at the desk in the middle of the streets and started signing.
Hong Dali! Once the three words were signed, Hong Dali tore the page out with a swish and handed it to the hooligan in front of him. “Don’t rush, don’t rush. Wait for me to do it one by one.”
The male lackey behind him was in charge of maintaining order. “Young Master has orders, everyone is to queue up properly. Anyone who is willing to help us later will have a share! No cutting queue, don’t cause any trouble, or you will be cast out and left to die!”
The whole group of hooligans then formed themselves into lines straighter than those of an army dress parade during national day celebrations. They had probably never been so obedient.
The problem was, Hong Dali was good at many things, but his physical endurance was not that good. He started getting tired after signing for a while.
Yao Tianhao was really unlucky. Just as Hong Dali was getting tired of autographing, he led a whole group of people out from Wanhao Nightclub. Hong Dali took a casual glance and saw that they were all middle-aged men. Although it was not apparent from their dressing, from their tough demeanor, it was obvious that these were the real big shots inside the Cabinet Society.
One of the men was stout and stocky, looking just like the famous actor Big Silly. This must be the head of the Cabinet Society, Yao Tianhao.
Hong Dali smiled quietly. “Ah, sorry everyone, the main character is here. We will have to continue our autograph session later.”
It should have been time for the actual negotiations to begin and both sides should be getting their fight on and starting off with some opening banter. The problem was that seventy or eighty hooligans had yet to get their autograph. This was where things got troublesome.
This group of little hooligans couldn’t show Hong Dali their displeasure, so they turned their heads and directed their death glares at Yao Tianhao instead. Their expressions were fierce. It was as though he had killed their fathers.
When Yao Tianhao saw Hong Dali, he had originally intended to put on a show of might. He had to look imposing before they started negotiations. But seeing how big Hong Dali’s group was, and how menacing they seemed, looking at him as if he were their mortal enemy, his imposing manner was immediately taken down a notch. He took a few deep breaths before finally saying, “Friends, let’s take a seat and discuss the matter slowly. May I know what we have done to offend you? I’m not boasting but, although I may not be one of the most influential people in Tianjing City, neither am I some inconsequential person.”
He spoke cordially enough, but the problem was, Hong Dali saw through his ploy to first be polite and then bring out the troops. He immediately called out, “Cut the crap. Where is Bighead?” In actual fact, Hong Dali was feeling kind of despondent. After half a day, the other side did not even know what was happening. It was as if they got attacked for nothing. He definitely was going to win hands-down...
Although he was initially shocked, Yao Tianhao was not a man who got to where he was today without some abilities. He knew he had lost the battle but had to save some dignity. He called out, “Who is Bighead? How do I know where to find him?”
“Old Hai, tell him who was the small fry who offended me.” Hong Dali tossed his head back rakishly. “I should not need to waste my breath on such small matters.”
Hai Qingtian was playing the role of Hong Dali’s advisor today. Naturally, he had to step out to say something. “The younger brother of one of my Young Master’s henchmen was tricked by Bighead from your Society and took...”
Hong Dali whispered, “Blue Fantasy.”
Hai Qingtian said loudly, “Right, Blue Fantasy. He’s still in jail now trying to quit! You settle this matter.”
Yao Tianhao shouted wildly, “What Bighead! What Blue Fantasy?! I don’t know this person!”
Hai Qingtian said, “Bighead. His real name is Kong Guanghui, nicknamed Baldy Kong.”
Yao Tianhao was obviously stumped. “Eh...” To begin with, if they talked about Bighead, he had no idea who that was. But if they called him Baldy Kong, he knew who that was. The useless fool must have picked the wrong guy to trifle with this time. Unfortunately, he was getting dragged down as well. What a pain in the ass.
Yao Tianhao’s only mistake was not having enough accurate information.
Hong Dali was well-informed about the Cabinet Society that Yao Tianhao was in charge of. He knew how much territory they had and what their core activities were. Hong Dali even knew what kind of character Yao Tianhao was.
As for Yao Tianhao? Other than knowing that someone was here to create trouble and that the person was rich, he knew nothing else. He did not even know why they were here. Worse still, Bighead, aka Baldy Kong, had taken the job without his knowledge, and Yao Tianhao had no idea his man had offended such a big shot.
But that was just one man. As a triad boss, he had to help his men when they got into trouble, or he would lose his influence in the triads. It was lucky he was well prepared for the confrontation this time and so had little patience. Yao Tianhao pointed his finger at Hong Dali’s nose from afar and shouted, “I think we should sit down and discuss this. I don’t want to take advantage of you since I have more people...”
Just as Yao Tianhao said that, Hong Dali, who was sitting on the stool cross-legged, snapped his fingers and said, “Everyone who helps me fight will get 1,000 yuan each.”
The lackeys coordinated perfectly. They brought out a chest from the Prayer Angel’s trunk. When they opened the chest, it was filled with more than 500,000 yuan worth of red hundred-yuan bills. The two female lackeys took their positions with their cash counting machines.
The hooligans who came to buff up the numbers suddenly froze.
It was quiet all of a sudden.
A total of 300 hooligans stood in lines beside Hong Dali. The 50 Sanquan Gang members that Hai Qingtian brought had somehow increased to over a hundred. They all held coldly glinting axes in their hands...
Hong Dali laughed evilly at Yao Tianhao. “I enjoying bullying others in numbers...”
After being in the triads for so many years, it was the first time he had met someone cockier than him. Yao Tianhao trembled with rage, and it was then that he completely crumbled. His expression changed, and he said, fawning, “Young Sir, shall we not come to arms? No need to make this into such a big matter...” Actually, Yao Tianhao was quite the character. He understood when to back off when things were not to his advantage. He was actually much smarter than expected.
Hong Dali would do him no favors. His underling had tricked Xiaoyi’s younger brother. He could only blame it on his bad luck. Just as Hong Dali was about to order his men to go forth and oppress the opponent with their superior numbers, the low hum of a motor was heard. A pitch black super streamlined made a sudden turn and came to a screeching halt. The car pointed directly at Yao Tianhao and his men.
The only person who could make such a dramatic entrance was no other than the Blood Consort Lin Chuyin!
