Chapter 638 - Manor
Chapter 638: Manor
“What’s with that manor?” asked Jiang Liushi while looking at it.
“That’s where Chukyo Base’s leader lives. It’s heavily guarded. Usually, ordinary people are strictly forbidden to even approach it,” explained Tomiko.
“Where is the manor?” Jiang Liushi asked while looking at that manor.
“Thank you. As for the management office, we don’t need to go,” said Jiang Liushi with a smile.
Tomiko felt confused as she was unable to understand what Jiang Liushi meant. However, she had not much time to ponder over as in the next moment she witnessed something that almost gave her a heart attack – Jiang Liushi’s tour bus suddenly accelerated and dashed toward the manor with thundering engine sounds.
‘Oh! Terrible!’ shouted Tomiko in her mind.
After living in the base for such a long period, Tomiko had never seen anyone daring enough to approach the manor without permission, let alone rush toward it so fast.
A large number of black barrels appeared on the manor’s fence immediately, all of them simultaneously aiming at the tour bus. Without any warning, the guards opened fire. Intense gunshots resounded, and Tomiko hastily evaded, hiding behind her vehicle. The scene that shocked her most was that Jiang Liushi’s tour bus was still rushing to the gate, even though it was under heavy fire.
Soon after, the tour bus collided with the steel reinforced gate and forced it open. Seeing that, Tomiko’s mouth formed an O shape, and she was at a loss for words. ‘This… Is this a declaration of war against Chukyo Base!?’
The loud sound seemed to shock the people in the manor, and the gunshots came to a stop immediately. Soon, a man in Japanese attire came out from the manor. He looked at the tour bus with a gloomy expression. Then, he asked, “Is this the way you knock on the door to someone else’s home? It’s too rude!”
While he was talking, he was still looking at the car and observing it. He wondered why the tour bus in front of him was still fine after being under heavy fire. There was not even a trace of a bullet on it. He also saw the steel gate on the ground and that it had actually caved in. Not even a cannonball could force open the gate, but the tour bus had done so. He didn’t believe when he first received the report, but after witnessing it, he was now convinced. In his mind, such an earth-shattering vehicle should belong to his manor.
‘Nakamura-dono…’ Upon seeing the man, Tomiko’s heart sank.
Nakamura was a famous swordsman in the base. After doomsday, his swordsmanship improved by leaps and bounds. He could cut down flying bullets or heavy steel plates with ease. Tomiko thought it was impossible for the Shi Ying Squad to run away now that Nakamura made his appearance.
“Tomiko, let’s leave quickly! If someone finds that we were the ones that led them here, it’ll be our doom,” said one of Tomiko’s members nervously.
Tomiko was aware that they should leave as soon as possible, but after looking at the tour bus, she felt hesitant.
‘Alas, they may flee…’ thought Tomiko, but she knew the possibility was quite small. She firmly believed they shouldn’t forsake the Shi Ying Squad. However, she had to be responsible for her teammates, and thus, they had to leave.
“If we didn’t do so, how could we have met you so quickly? That’s the best approach to talk to you directly without wasting any time,” answered Jiang Zhuying, annoying Nakamura in the process.
“Little girl, are you the car’s owner?” he asked coldly.
“Are you the manor’s boss? Tell your boss to come here and talk with us,” replied Jiang Zhuying unceremoniously. She may not be the car’s owner, but she was the owner’s little sister.
“Our boss? You don’t have the right to talk with our boss.” Nakamura was fuming in anger. He raised his hand in the air, signaling to his subordinates, and then said, “Since you’re already here, you can only dream about leaving. As for which power you belong to, I will choose a patient fellow to interrogate you.”
Upon receiving their orders, hundreds of people appeared in the various buildings of the manor, and black barrels were all aimed at Jiang Liushi’s tour bus. At the same time, more than a dozen combatants suddenly appeared around the tour bus like ghosts, throwing many sharp objects in front and behind of the tour bus’ tires. They also used daggers to cut the tires.
Nakamura grinned evilly. In his mind, as long as they destroyed the tires, the tour bus would be rendered useless. Nakamura was not in a hurry to kill them as he wanted them to slowly fall in despair first.
Unexpectedly, at that moment, dazzling electric light shot out of the tour bus. The combatants had no time to react, and they were enshrouded by the horrifying electric current. Almost unable to struggle, they let out anguished screams and one by one they were burned alive.
“You’re courting death!” Nakamura was furious and forgot his previous thoughts. He now wanted to kill them all on the spot. He pulled out his katana from the sheath attached to his waist, emitting a dazzling light.
Just then, Nakamura spotted a small barrel stretching out of the tour bus. “What’s that?” he shouted and jumped. Although he had never seen such a small barrel before, he clearly had a foreboding feeling about it. However, even if that thing launched a rocket, Nakamura was confident that he could cut it in two. As a result, he didn’t dodge, but instead shouted while raising his katana, “Cut!”
However, in the next instant, horror replaced the confident look on Nakamura’s face as a destructive airstream was shot at him. Nakamura and his katana had no way to resist the airstream, which in turn sent him flying like a rag all the way to the wall of one of the buildings and opening a huge hole on it. Nakamura crashed heavily on the ground, and as for his sword, or what remained of it, it was still flying in the air. His body was covered in blood, while his internal organs were pulverized. Unfortunately for him, he was not dead yet. His eyes betrayed the horror he felt.
Nakamura opened his mouth, seemingly trying to say something, but only black blood mixed with internal organs gashed out of it. The manor fell in a strange silence. The gunmen, who had not the time to shoot, were petrified.
At this time, the tour bus started moving slowly. Its huge tires crashed the sharp objects beneath it, leaving squeaky sounds. The tires didn’t receive the slightest damage.
The people in the manor felt cold sweat drenching their backs. They never expected that the tour bus would be so powerful neither that it was equipped with an air cannon. Although he was one step away from death because he underestimated the Shi Ying Squad, it also proved how terrifying the tour bus was.
“I came here to find Xue Sha and Shen Kui. Tell them to get out!” Jiang Liushi broke the silence.
“Shen Kui? Xue Sha?” Actually, only a few people in the manor knew the status of the two mysterious people. It was the first time for them to face such an embarrassing situation. Everyone remained silent.
Even so, Jiang Liushi was sure that the two fellows would soon make their appearance. Sure enough, not long after making his demand, a large number of people came from behind the manor. The person in the lead was a middle-aged man dressed as a businessman. He looked at Jiang Liushi with eagle-like eyes intensely.
“Xue Sha!” When Ye Yuekong saw him, her eyes betrayed her hatred for him.
Surprised, Jiang Liushi looked at Xue Sha and asked, “This person is Xue Sha?”
“You should be Jiang Liushi, right?” asked Xue Sha. “It’s only you? Where is Tsukiyomi?”
Jiang Liushi sneered. “Why bother asking for the obvious?” he responded with a question.
His answered caused Xue Sha’s expression to change. He was looked bewildered and indignant, but he quickly calmed down. “I have to admit it, you’re very powerful. You even managed to kill Tsukuyomi. But do you know that you destroyed every chance of having a future? As soon as we unite the world, you will lose everything, be it rights, friends or family!”
Jiang Liushi interrupted him directly, “Stop!” He heard similar ridiculous speeches from Genesis’ members plenty of times now, and they had started to get on his nerves. As for the threats, he didn’t care about them at all. The most fundamental things, which Starseed needed, were in the hands of Genesis’ members.
Suddenly, Jiang Liushi thought of something. “Are you here to delay for time? Why? Help Shen Kui escape?” he asked.
Xue Sha smiled coldly and only said one word, “Battle!”
