Chapter 361 - A New Danger (1)
“Yeah, I know. This is too boring.”
“Slowly! Move!”
“Oh, there’s the load. Move!”
Giant beasts pushed carriages through. It was a dark night, but the area around the Gate was busy. The busiest place of the world was now at the Gate, the connection point between the two worlds. Many goods were transferred in and out of the Gate. There were people leaving for Earth while some were traveling to Khalodian.
“Ohh! Is this…?”
“Hmmm! Fresh air!”
“Let’s have the tour later, shall we? Move!”
Employees at the Gate ordered people to move quickly through the Gate. The new world was under Khalodian control.
“Oops! Get the birdy! Whose bird is that?!”
A 10-meter wide bird flew through the Gate, and the soldiers shouted with shock.
“Oops! I’m sorry! He’s a good boy, but I think he got a little scared.”
The young man who brought the bird over apologized.
“Jack! Return! Sit!”
“Ren! Come down right now!”
Two birds flew over the air and came down.
“Hey, be careful out there! Take it to that animal flag over there.”
Two men bowed and began moving over. Soldiers then mumbled to themselves with a smile.
“Are those the bird riders?”
“Yeah. What were they called? Tamers? They talk with animals I heard.”
“Yeah-yeah! Did you see that Kong last time?”
“No. Why?”
“That’s a shame. It’s a big monster thing! But you can speak to it! And I heard it was once human.”
“Yeah. It’s hard to believe though.”
“Same with the dragon! But it’s still…”
That’s when a soldier noticed the Gate shaking. It usually had a very steady form, but now it was shaking.
“L-look! The Gate!”
Soldiers began to sound the alarm and all people began shouting in shock.
[Emergency Protocol 1!]
“Get yourselves together! Get back to the first defensive line!”
All soldiers began pushing out the people toward the back.
“Move! We are moving out of the gate!”
People began to move quickly and soldiers began moving according to how they were trained. The Gate was showing an anomaly and they’re weren’t sure about what might happen. A trained dog was sent over to the Gate to move in where it was trained to get a message from the other side. Soon, the dog returned through the Gate.
“It’s back!”
“Whoaaa!”
Some sighed in relief. At least it was fine at the moment.
[The Gate use will be forbidden until further notice. Repeat- Gate usage is…]
Speakers began to announce the closure of the Gate. Everyone was relieved that it was okay for now, but began to worry for what was to come.
