Chapter 309: Age of Pioneering and Excavation (2)

“The elite forces are requesting for early retirement.”

Duvall spoke and most commanders nodded. It had been nine years since they moved over to Earth and a lot of things had changed. The old Korean peninsula was now under the full control of the Khalodian Empire. Large walls were being constructed in hard-to-defend areas, and monsters were pushed back inland to what used to be China. And starting with the old Seoul city, Khalodian’s main city was built and many villages soon sprang up nearby. More people had been rescued and everyone was now fine with the goblin alliance.

However, the elite forces had done enough in their time. Many wanted to settle down and start families to live normal lives.

“What do you think?” Joonbum asked.

“I don’t think it’s a problem, Your Majesty. The Gate will reopen soon, and we don’t have many problems keeping our boundaries due to the goblins.”

“I see.”

“And there are a lot who want to move into the North American continent, merchants and mercenaries as well. I think it’s time we allow for a large-scale migration to the NA continent.”

“Merchants and mercenaries?” Jinpok asked back.

“Yes, sir. We have found large iron ore fields on the NA continent. Kongs and elite forces are hunting down monsters in that area.”

“Oh? Kongs?”

“Yes, sir. Tamers are at the scene.”

“Tamers?” Doral asked this time and Duvall replied, “We are planning to capture the large ostriches there and train them so we can ride them, sir. The tamers are there to train these new ostriches.”

“That sounds fun.”

Tamers were a vital part of the Empire’s army now. There were already many animals, like wolves, that had been tamed and were trained to be used as mounts.

And Duvall continued reporting while everyone was focused on him. All of his reports were important but the last one was the most important of all.

“And lastly, the crime rate has increased.”

This was the most important issue in recent days.

“It’s mostly the survivors who are the cause. Some have knowledge from the old civilization and are using it to their advantage. There are also many instances of merchants and mercenaries being used by these individuals.”

Everyone became grim. The merchants of the Empire were smart, but that was not considering people like Joonbum who were born and grew up on modern Earth before the disaster. Joonbum scratched his beard.

‘Are they like countryside fools?’

Survivors were given endless amounts of supplies to settle down. But while some were thankful, there were many who were not satisfied and wanted more. After realizing that their old civilization was more advanced, they began to use that to their advantage.

Some of the people who were saved from the North American continent began to grow drugs, working together with merchants from other countries. And it was increasing.

“From our investigations, there are NA-based crime organizations named The 9s, Red 69, and Aspirin 88 that are making their names known. Also, there is a group called the Taekguk Clan, based in the Korean peninsula.”

Everyone then turned to Joonbum. He asked, “Are they all survivors?”

Duvall shook his head.

“No, Your Majesty. Most of them are survivors, but there are some from other countries and from our Empire that help or allow it.”

“I see.”

This was a problem. It was a global issue involving multiple countries. They were under the Khalodian Empire’s control on Earth, but they were still members of another country.

‘We don’t have much time…’

The Gate was going to open soon and Joonbum did not want to have any problems remaining. He wanted to return as soon as the Gate opened and meet his family and show them the recovered Earth.

“What are you hesitating for? We just need to take care of them.”

Everyone turned to the casual, careless voice. It was Jinpok who was now lifting his giant axe.

“If you don’t want to do it, stay here. I’ll take care of it myself.”

“What are you going to do?”

“Beat the crap out of them.”

Jinpok said it casually as everyone frowned.

“If-if we do that, then t-there will be…”

Duvall quickly recovered from his shock. Jinpok then glared at him.

“Do you think I care?”

With Jinpok glaring defiantly at everyone, no one dared to speak. Commander Jinpok was considered the most dangerous man in the entire army.

“Well, it’s decided then.”

Duvall bowed to Jinpok.

“Understood, Commander.”

“Give me the list.”

Duvall handed over the list, but it was Doral who took it first to check. After verifying it, he then handed it to Jinpok.

“Whoa, look at all these bastards. Let’s go get them all.”

Duvall became concerned and glanced over at Joonbum and back to Jinpok.

“Y-you should go easy…”

“I’ll get all of them.”

Jinpok laughed as he made a gesture of his thumb moving across his throat and everyone frowned.

“But we’re against…”

Duvall tried to say something but Jinpok shook his head.

“Hey, it’s decided.”

Jinpok got up from his seat with his axe over his shoulder.

“Get the boys!”

Once he shouted, large-bodied soldiers gathered in front of him at once and the number began to grow.

“What is it, Commander?”

“We’re going to get rid of some trash.”
