Chapter 82 Trade Secrets
"You can hire.... NPC blacksmiths? How is that possible? If that were so, then wouldn\'t everyone just do that instead? What is the use of having the class?" the old man fell back with shock.
This had shocked him to the extent that he was muttering his thoughts out so that Jake could hear him.
"Well, are you interested in being allies with us now? The contract is here to sign." Jake tapped a button, and a blue screen popped up in front of the old man.
"You held your side of the deal. It\'s our turn to hold our side. The gold is yours. And as for the alliance, I am sure that two promising guilds coming together will create a force that no one will be able to overcome." the old man nodded as he signed the agreement.
"Good. This is just a failsafe so that you guys can\'t betray me. Now that this is out of the way, I am going to tell you something as your ally. Something that can only help you and the alliance in the long-run." Jake said.
"I wonder what that is? You have given me a lot. Could it be, you are also willing to divulge a few places where we can get karma?" the old man asked expectantly.
Jake shook his head.
"I gave Phoenix what I already had. And if I did have it, it would cost a pretty penny to acquire this information. It is very valuable after all. The benefits of being a noble are too many to discount."
"But where was I? Yes, the piece of advice. If you are planning on hiring hundreds and hundreds of NPC blacksmiths to start working on outfitting your entire guild for a month or two, that is fine. After all, as the level grows, you need better equipment. You will understand the level requirement tab once you are in level thirty."
"But you also have to start investing in player blacksmiths. Although they are awfully dumb and pointless in the beginning, with terrible succeed rates, they have a much higher ceiling. If you want to even consider making Epic Equipment, then to use NPCs would be too astronomical." Jake said.
"Interesting. The advice that you have given is indeed, helpful. Sirius is glad to be doing business with someone who actually looks out for his allies." the old man nodded.
"I wonder though. I have always wondered. Are you Kramer\'s father? I mean, there can only be one reason that you have the authority to deal with so many gold coins at once, and sign the agreement without even flinching.
Until now, I thought that you were some high level elder, but that still wouldn\'t make sense. Not just any high level elder can bring out very coveted gold coins in a heart beat. Only the CEO\'s father, maybe uncle, has this capability." Jake asked.
"Looks like all of this doesn\'t fool you. Well then, this is too pointless to continue. All you need to know is that Sirius will be backing you. I don\'t know how you know of the lists, but I do know that you are not a corporation. But for now, Sirius has your back. I like you boy." the old man smiled.
"And it looks like you can see right through me. A little of your background research actually went through?" Jake asked.
"I know things boy. Experience tells a lot. Well then, you have a lot more people to please. Get them all into the alliance, I don\'t care. After all, once this alliance actually becomes a reality, well that will be fun to watch." the old man laughed as he got up from his chair and started walking out.
He touched the wall, popping it out, and walked out with a smile in his face.
Jake was still sitting there, dazed for a few seconds. He then recovered and got up to come out of the room with a smile on his face as well.
Myriad Arrows stepped up near him and whispered in his ear, "What happened in there? That was quick. And it looks like the deal went through?"
"Well, we just finished the deal in exchange for a little chitchat. Now that this is over, we now have the remaining gentlemen to convince." Jake noticed that there were only three people left.
It appeared that a few had already left. They were probably not given the go ahead. Only those who had authority in the moment would actually understand how big a deal this was instead of someone in a chair somewhere else.
The single chair for the guests remained empty. The three were lost in discussions in their chat windows to even care.
Finally, the three of them looked at Jake at the exact same time.
"This is not something that we believe in. Genjin is absolutely sure that such responsibility in the hands of a brat will not work. Especially one that is so rude toward another company." one said.
"That is right. An impulsive brat like you will never steer an alliance in the right direction. To think that you would dare put a bounty on the representative of Aries? Do you think that you are invincible? Such a guild leader will only cause the downfall of a growing guild like this one."
"So this is why, we are offering to buy the guild again. And let me remind you. This guild will soon collapse because you have just basically proclaimed that you are going into war with Aries." the second representative said.
"You did what?!"
Myriad Arrows looked at Jake with shock. He was just looking at the representatives, hoping for an answer. He didn\'t have enough time to see that Jake actually delivered on his threat.
"Do you think that I am not a man of my words? If I say that I will make someone pay, I will make someone pay." Jake smiled.
