Chapter 46 - Unwanted Guest
"Mister Romanov, please come out!"
The unknown man\'s voice from outside shouted one more time, further annoying Viktor whose sleep was disrupted abruptly.
Viktor glared in the direction of the voice. He was having such a good dream, sleeping in the embrace of a beautiful girl, yet this man outside just kept on bothering him. As he got out of bed, he inwardly swore if this wasn\'t something important, he would definitely make the other party\'s life hell.
His good mood was now ruined.
He wanted to just shout at the man for bothering him, but when he peeked through the gap from the barred window, he finally realized the severity of the matter.
The man who was shouting for him to come out was currently standing with a few men. Including him, there were a total of six men on the snow plain about a hundred meter away from the hut and they were all fully armed.
"Master, I can see another two behind the tree lines," Boris, who had been standing ready with his AK47 in his arm, immediately reported the moment Viktor opened the door.
At this time, the others were also already awake and alarmed.
"Woof woof!"
<There are ten humans outside. Apart from the six, four of them are on standby further back.>
The Djinn informed, confirming that there were four men in hiding and not only two.
Hearing the confirmation, Viktor really wanted to swear. He felt like scolding the Djinn for not warning him about this earlier, but he could already hear the Djinn using the fact that he was asleep or that these people outside were human and not mutated creatures as an excuse.
What a way to start the day.
Once again, Viktor looked at the people outside, this time observing them more closely one by one. When his eyes fell on one of the men standing in front of the house, he was surprised to see a familiar figure.
Andrei!
"Dammit…" Viktor clenched his fists. It appears that he had been tracked.
He really shouldn\'t have stayed in one place for so long!
"Mister Romanov! We don\'t have all day, come out now!" the man outside once again shouted.
Viktor took a deep breath before shouting back from inside, "What do you want!?"
Seeing that the person in question finally responded, the man chuckled.
"We don\'t want to hurt you, but you better come out peacefully and come with us."
Don\'t want to hurt them? How could he believe such a thing from a group of people fully armed tracking him so early in the morning of the apocalypse?
"No thank you, just go and leave us in peace."
Everyone inside the hut were looking at him for a decision, but Viktor instead focused his attention and looked at the blue husky next to him.
"Can you tell me their strength?" he whispered to the Djinn.
"Woof woof!"
<All of them are in the earth realm. Half of them are still in the low stage, three are in the middle stage, and two are in the high stage. The strongest is the man shouting and next is the one you met at the bunker.>
"Darn it! All of them are in the earth realm!?" Viktor gritted his teeth and tried to think of a solution. "Tell me how strong they are in numbers."
[Human male - Earth realm initial - 23 to 26 battle power]
[Human male - Earth realm middle - 28 to 32 battle power]
[Human male - Earth realm high - 36 and 39 battle power]
Viktor was surprised when he saw the numbers. He even suspected that the Djinn had displayed the wrong values for a moment. After all, their battle power was less than what he thought.
It was even lower than his; Viktor was still in the initial stage of the earth realm, but his battle power was comparable to Andrei, who was already in the high stage.
Even so, Viktor was not so naive to think he would be able to beat them because of that. He understood that this number could not be compared to the mutated animals he fought before. Not only did these people have weapons, but they definitely also had some tricks up their sleeves..
With his current stats, Viktor was confident that he would be able to escape without getting hurt. However, he wasn\'t confident he could say the same for his companions.
He looked toward the four companions with him. All of them were still in the mortal realm, and Eva and Barry even had no experience at all when it came to battles.
As for the two bodyguards, if things were to go wrong and they end up dead, it would be such a waste of resources.
Ten earth-realm humans, how was he supposed to handle this?
"Mister Romanov, if you don\'t come out, we\'ll come in instead!"
Bang!
This time, the man shot a gun to the sky to intimidate him, and the gunshot was quickly followed by howls from the distance. Those howls were probably from the same wolves that had been following him around since yesterday.
Aoooo—!
Viktor\'s brows furrowed.
There was already this problem with people outside his door, and now those wolves were also coming?
Wait.
This could be a good plan.
Viktor quickly shouted, "All right, all right! I\'m coming out! Don\'t shoot!"
He hastily briefed the two bodyguards and told Barry to stay close to Eva.
"Yes, master!"
He then slowly walked out of the hut. With one foot still on the safe side, he warily looked at the man who had been shouting for him to come out!
"I\'m out, don\'t shoot! Tell me what you want," Viktor said with his hands up.
The one speaking was a huge bearded man wearing a certain brown jacket. Except for Andrei, they were all wearing the same brown jacket.
As for the captain, he was no longer wearing his red and black uniform; just simple clothes.
When the bearded man looked at him, the man\'s expression brightened.
"Ah! Master Viktor, it really is you! This is good news!" he exclaimed.
This reaction was not what Viktor expected.
"Who are you!?" he warily asked.
"I am Olga. You might not remember me as I was only a lowly guard within the family, but that does not matter. Now that I know you are truly Master Viktor Romanov, I plan to bring you home," the man answered with an amiable smile.
Viktor could hear the joy in Olga\'s voice, but he still did not believe him. The people who worked for his family in Moscow alone already numbered in the thousands, so it was impossible for Viktor to recognize the man and confirm his words.
"How do I know you\'re going to bring me to my family? …No, I would rather stay. Tell whoever is still alive, I will return home soon, but not now."
Viktor decided to play it safe, but it seemed that this self-proclaimed guard was a very temperamental person. Hearing Viktor\'s answer, his happy expression quickly turned ugly.
"Huh! You are as arrogant and foolish as always! You really don\'t know what you are facing right now... Follow me nicely or people will start to get hurt!"
As the man called Olga said those words, his eyes that were looking at Viktor were filled with contempt.
Viktor was laughing inside. This man was definitely not sent by the family. He had seen all kinds of people who wanted to exploit him before, so he could recognize one when he saw them.
Knowing that the other party came with vile intention, Viktor immediately erased the hesitation in his heart.
It was time to start his plan.
Viktor\'s gaze at them turned sharp. He put his game face on, put his hands down, and confidently walked a few steps down the wooden porch and stepped into the thick snow.
"Yes, I agree… people will get hurt if this keeps up... Yours, that is!\' Viktor said arrogantly, "Leave now if you still value your lives!"
The man was momentarily stunned by Viktor\'s words as he didn\'t expect such words to come out from him. But moments later, he burst out laughing as if he had just heard the biggest joke of his life.
"Hahaha! I never knew you had such a peculiar sense of humor! How are you planning to do that!? With those two bodyguards of yours?" Olga sneered, a mocking look on his face.
Still appearing confident, Viktor waited until a figure walked out from behind the bodyguards.
It was the blue Siberian husky, fiercely glaring at the unwanted guests.
The creature immediately bared its fangs, surprising the six standing in front of the hut.
"If you don\'t leave now, I don\'t have a choice but to let my wolf and his friends in the forest come out and kill you all."
