Chapter 149
Lotte was in dilemma.
Marc looked at Kate and then shook his head. “Not now.”
He didn’t want to stay any longer with that woman named Hailey if only it was not necessary. Because of that, Marc refused to talk about this. After all, having a contract with a pet was considered to be quite rare at this time.
With many people were busy trying to figure out to strengthen their body, how many of them would care that some mutated animals were not giant mutated animals?
These pets were special.
“Meow.”
“Wang!”
Robby was clearly deflated. He was a big golden retriever, but at this moment, he looked like he was a deflated balloon after his owner refused to give him his favorite snack.
.....
Marc’s lips twitched.
“Be good.” Kyle patted the little cat and looked at Robby deeply. Since the other party was just a student, Kyle felt that it would be good for him to ask a few questions in regards of having a pet.
And just from the short interaction that other people didn’t understand, he had figured out that this Marc should have a blood contract with his golden retriever dog. As for how he made it, Kyle would ask about it later.
“Meow~.”
Kate then snuggled against Kyle and positioned herself to sleep again. She had no intention to stay awake anyway since she hadn’t fully recovered and couldn’t absorb the white dots from these giant mutated animals under the eyes of so many students who were following them.
Dylan frowned slightly but he didn’t say anything.
On the other hand, Jake was very curious. If not because there was Hailey in the car and that he was the one driving, he would have become a chatterbox and asked a lot of questions.
But since he couldn’t, Jake could only stay silent.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
...
After leaving the encirclement of the giant mutated animals outside the university, some students went on their way. They only teamed up to be able to escape the encirclement anyway and some wanted to return to their family members because they were worried about them.
All in all, the group split up as fast as they gathered.
“It’s strange that these giant mutated animals are still heading towards the university.” Lotte could see that these giant mutated animals didn’t have any intention to stop just because Dylan had taken the water gem.
Kyle nodded. “The leftover is still there.”
Leftover?
Lotte thought for a moment and guessed that the lingering energy was definitely still in that laboratory. For these giant mutated animals, just the lingering energy could help them to rank up, so they rushed over to the area to take whatever was left.
And they didn’t know whether the gem was there or not because what they could sense was the energy.
In a way these giant mutated animals were indeed very pitiful.
But anyway, Lotte said nothing.
The car continued until they crossed the street and saw that there were a lot of people roaming around. Kyle’s eyes suddenly turned sharp. “Stop the car.”
“What is it?” Jake was stunned.
“Some people are planting bombs on the ground.” Kyle sneered. “It seems that they want to deal with the giant mutated animals this way.”
But the problem was, these people planted the bombs on the main street. Are they really thinking of dealing with the giant mutated animals?
They just wanted to destroy.
Jake’s eyes turned cold when he heard what Kyle said. He knew very well that it meant that these people didn’t care about the causalities when they made their move and might even plan on burying the people with the giant mutated animals together.
Very ruthless.
“Then, what are you going to do?”
“Dylan.”
The water that had been attacking the giant mutated animals were gathered together before they formed a water road in front of them. It covered the areas enough to diffuse and wet the gunpowder.
“Continue.”
Jake nodded and started the car again.
Marc watched this group of people made their decision quickly and their ability that could control the element into such a distance. At this moment, he seemed to understand that the reason why these people were not afraid of the giant mutated animals were because they were so strong.
So strong that they didn’t need to worry that much about these giant mutated animals and dared to enter dangerous location.
Whoosh!
The car left and the people who planted the bombs were cursing on the street. With the gunpowder and the fuse all wet, how were they supposed to use these bombs now?
They were angry.
But the subject for their anger had long left.
Leaving City D was easy but after a few hours, it would be night time. They definitely couldn’t sleep while they were staying in this cramped car. It would be better to stop too as they were quite tired.
“Let’s stop there.” Kyle pointed at an empty space. “Lotte, you clear up the area. Dylan, you and Jake will prepare the tent. I’m going to prepare the food.”
“Ok.”
They quickly moved, leaving only Marc and Hailey there. Marc had completely forgotten that he originally only wanted to tag along until they left the university. Seeing how powerful they were, he really wanted to be able to be part of this group.
Hailey looked at Marc in disgust. “Why are you still here? Don’t you know how to scram?”
“They didn’t ask me to leave. Why should I listen to you?”
“Wang! Wang!” <He\'s right, you b****! You have no right to order my master!"
Robby barked at Hailey loudly, showing his extreme dissatisfaction towards this annoying woman in front of him.
Hailey gritted her teeth.
She stomped and walked towards Dylan, who had placed the first tent and now making another one.
“Cousin Dylan, why do you have to bring him along? Now that we’re already out here, can’t you just kick him out?” Hailey complained.
“No.”
“Why? It’s not like you know him either, do you?” Hailey was angry. She didn’t want to stay with this poor bum like Marc any longer. In her opinion, such a poor boy didn’t deserve her attention in the slightest bit.
If not because he was so smart and often being used to compare with her who had such a poor grade, Hailey would not even notice that damn man.
Dylan shrugged.
“Cousin!”
Jake looked at these two and pretended to be deaf. He didn’t want to get involved in the private matters of these two and felt that whatever they were talking about, he really should steer away from it.
Rubbing his nose lightly, he knew how pampered Hailey was.
Amongst Dylan’s cousins, Hailey was probably the one whom Dylan didn’t like the most. This girl was very conceited and loved to order other people, thinking that they should follow her words just because it was her.
Thankfully not everyone was like her.
Dylan looked at Hailey deeply. “If it’s not because of father order, I’ll not care about you. Behave yourself or I’ll tell them that you court death on your own.”
Hearing the long sentence from Dylan, Hailey was dumbstruck.
Dylan was a type of person who only liked to say one or two words at a time because he felt that excessive words were useless. People were using too many honeyed words and that made him feel sick.
Thus, Dylan went the extreme opposite.
But this didn’t mean that Dylan was incapable of uttering a whole sentence. It was just that he rarely did it because he would only speak so much when he felt that it was absolutely necessary.
And this long sentence was clearly a warning.
Warning for her not to act out of the line and just stayed silent at the side.
“You...” Hailey wanted to curse, but seeing the serious look on her cousin’s face, she couldn’t do it. the image of this cousin of hers who had always been very excellent and the sight of him killing so many giant mutated animals not long ago was still so fresh in her mind.
She could never be compared with her cousin.
After saying that much, Dylan simply ignored Hailey and busied himself with the making of the tent with Jake. Jake himself also didn’t bother to look at Hailey because he knew that this annoying girl was indeed not a type of person he liked to deal with.
At the back, Marc watched everything and his lips curled up in disdain. As he thought, that Hailey was indeed disliked by her family members, yet she always flaunted that they loved her so much and treated her as the princess of the family.
What a big liar.
