Chapter 77
Flames appeared on the tip of his finger and danced lightly as if showing that it was true to Jake’s Father.
On the other hand, Dylan simply stretched his palm and water from his bottle flew to his palm and formed a ball.
It was a strange sight.
Yet, it was also something that they had to accept for the past few days. Their world would no longer be the same as it used to be and that the strange law seemed to have merged into their world.
It was like fantasy now.
“I see.” Jake’s Father sighed.
“See, I can protect myself, so now...”
“You’re coming with us, Jake.” Jake’s Mother looked at her son. “It’s good that you managed to awaken your ability, but do you think that you’re the only one? Come with me and meet with your mother’s iron fist.”
.....
The box beside Jake was flattened and Jake looked at his mother stiffly.
It seemed...
His mother awakened the same ability as him and she was stronger than him in terms of control even though they were at the same rank.
Jake wanted to cry without tears.
“Meow.”
Watching Jake being dragged by his mother using his ear, Kate had the feeling that this young man was so pitiful.
Jake’s Father nodded at the two of them. “Alright, I won’t delay your time again. I’m just glad that Jake didn’t end up crushing himself after awakening his ability.”
“Almost.” Dylan narrowed his eyes.
When he first saw Jake, the latter was almost crushed under the metal. It was only after he cut those metal with his water that Jake could control the rest and learned how to do it better.
If he had been left alone... Dylan was sure that Jake would end up with several broken bones.
Jake’s Father looked helpless and waved his hand.
Kyle glanced at Dylan. “Did Jake try anything strange on the first day when he awakened his ability?”
“Giant iron, melting swamp iron, electricity transfer.” Dylan simply mentioned what kind of strange tricks Jake tried to do before he chose to use the simplest one, which was to form a spear.
Kate was speechless.
She took back her words.
This man was simply troublemaker. Couldn’t he just think of using simple attacks and instead seemed to be using any kind of means possible to make things difficult for himself?
Drap! Drap! Drap!
There was a rushing footsteps and the soldiers looked visibly tenser. Even though Jake’s parents had high ranking, the soldiers were not as tense as they used to be. It seemed that the one who came should have higher ranking that Jake’s parents.
A middle aged man walked towards them swiftly. He had stern expression but his appearance looked 60% similar to Kyle.
Kate blinked her eyes.
Kyle’s father?
“Father,” Kyle called out.
Dylan also greeted, “Uncle.”
“General,” Dr. Dall didn’t hesitate and also called out.
“Meow?”
Kate was dumbfounded. She admit that she was clueless about the ranking in the military and didn’t pay much attention, but General was one of the highest ranking available, right?
If Kyle’s father is a general, does it mean that he was actually the leader in this base?
Kate’s legs suddenly felt soft.
Would she end up being the enemies of the entire soldiers if it was found out that she had accidentally ‘tricked’ their young master? She didn’t mean to become his cat and followed him everywhere like this...
“Kyle, why did you not tell me anything for the past few days? Did you not see my call?” Kyle’s Father looked at Kyle sternly.
Kyle blinked his eyes and then replied calmly, “I blocked your number after you put me into that university to become a teacher.”
Kate was speechless.
He what?
No wonder Kate felt that Kyle seemed to be living alone. Did he have some quarrel with his father?
“And you didn’t even think of unblocking the number after the world changes?” Kyle’s Father looked visibly annoyed.
“There’s no point. You’ve already informed me that there’s a possibility of such thing happening sometime soon, so you should have guessed that I’ll still be alive,” Kyle answered carelessly.
“You rascal!” Kyle’s Father scolded.
Kyle shrugged.
In Kyle’s arm, Kate felt as if she had just seen a completely different Kyle. Whenever Kate saw Kyle before, what she saw was a gentleman and a dependable person. But in front of his father, Kyle was actually such a rascal.
It was so funny.
“Meow.”
Hearing the sound of cat, Kyle’s Father lowered his head and saw the little cat in Kyle’s hand. His eyes widened in surprise. Because he was paying attention to his son, he didn’t realize that his son was actually carrying a little cat in his arm.
Kyle’s Father was very clear of his son’s personality and how cold his son had always been. In his memory, the matter of entrusting the little cat was naturally just a little whim on his part because he was annoyed by his son’s behavior.
In fact, he had expected that Kyle will end up returning the cat before a week’s time.
But now it seemed that his son was truly listening to his words and took care of the little cat carefully. When the apocalypse started, he thought that Kyle would just abandon the little cat since for his son, taking care of such a delicate little cat was a hassle.
Anyway, he himself had forgotten about this cat.
If not for seeing the little cat in his son’s arm, Kyle’s Father would have long thrown this matter to the back of his head.
He would also not blame his son.
“It seems that you’re listening to my words carefully. This is the cat from before that I entrusted to you, right?”
Kyle’s father raised his hand, intending to touch Kate’s head.
However, Kyle took a step back and looked at his father with narrowed eyes. “She’s mine now.”
