The Birth Of A Villainess

Chapter 197 - Medicine For Stupidity (2)

What\'s going on? Princess Gao couldn\'t help but scream in her mind. The blood coming out of her mouth still didn\'t stop even after she tried to keep it close.

The bleeding of her nose was also continuing to flow down her chin and to her clothes. This scene was undoubtedly gruesome if it were seen by others.

Both Princess Gao and Princess Zhou had their hands flinging in the air as if they were looking for something to hold on to. However, because of their movements, the cups and other things that were on top of the desk were messily thrown to the ground and crashed loudly.

The piercing noise alerted the people outside but no one seemed to think that something bad was happening inside.

They were too used to this kind of commotion created by the two sisters and they all assumed that they had some scuffle to take care of thus, even after hearing this much, no one took a step forward to check what was really going inside.

Already seeing white dots swimming across her eyes, Princess Zhou tried to reach for the only person who was with them. It was the maid who gave them their drinks..

"He… help me." Princess Zhou managed to say while breathing hard.

Her voice sounded so coarse as if she had travelled so far on foot and without a sip of water. Two eyes gleaming with tears was looking at the maid.

Yet, the maid made no effort to support the princess nor call for help.

The maid, Fu Xian, who reported what happened to the Lin residence and made them drink what was inside the pot was now staring at them with cold eyes.

Realizing that something was wrong, Princess Gao pushed herself to stand up but because the poison coursing through her veins already took a toll in her body, she stumbled a few times. She swayed side by side like a drunk old man before she unceremoniously fell to the ground.

Princess Gao raised her head to look at the treacherous maid who betrayed them and forced herself to say, "Ho…how dare a maggot like you disobey me! Do you think you\'ll live after doing this? Your family and your lover will all die before you can escape the palace!"

Fu Xian listened attentively at the words of the princess. Her face somehow changed greatly upon the mention of her family and lover whom she treasured the most.

Seeing the change in Fu Xian\'s face, Princess Gao\'s lips curved into a sardonic smile, "If… if you ha… if you wish for them to live then, call for help and I might spare you and those important to you!"

She wheezed and coughed up blood just after she said this to the maid.

When one was at the apex of their lives and status, no matter what happens, they will always think that they still have the power to make decisions for others.

That was the same with the circumstances that were unfolding before them. The two princess held their heads high and mock others for their inferiority. Preying on the weak while hiding behind the strong.

For the sake of getting what they wanted, they paid a great sum of money and ordered a maid to infiltrate the Lin residence on the same day the Prince Jing and Prince Ziyin arrived before poisoning the general.

Once Fu Xian succeeded in doing her task, no one knew whether these ladies would do their part and let the maid\'s family and lover go. Fu Xian might even lose her life for the sake of hiding the truth.

"Spare me? You burned down my home along with my parents and siblings. You threw my lover to prison to die. What makes you think I will buy your lies and help you? Rot in hell!" Fu Xian spat out. She kicked them a few times until her anger died out before she stormed out using the back door where no one would see her coming out.

The tears streaming down her face was heartbreaking. She never thought that Princess Gao and Princess Zhou would try to threaten her using her family and killed them without caring for the result of her task.

All they cared about was that they got what they wanted and nothing else mattered to them.

She only did this task for the huge sum of money offered to her if she succeeded and she did.

But who knew that a monster was living inside the Lin residence and took a bite of her.

Fu Xian\'s footsteps slowed down when she was in front of a shack behind the training grounds for palace soldiers.

She looked to her sides to see if anyone followed him and when she saw that the surroundings were too silent and no one was around, only then did she step inside the shack.

"You\'re back." A smooth female voice sounded from the back of the shack.

Since it was early in the morning and the sun was about to rise, the shadows inside the shack enveloped the figure of the female inside. Yet, Fu Xian could already imagine the cruel smile that was plastered on the female\'s lips as if to congratulate her for graduating from being a complete idiot.

"Come forward." Lin Xiaofei asked, "What\'s wrong? You don\'t look happy for someone who succeeded in her revenge to the people who killed your loved ones?"

"I am happy." Fu Xian said as she stepped forward. "If you hadn\'t let me out of that cage and told me of what has become of my family, I would still believe that they\'re all alive."

"Then, why the long face?"

Fu Xian raised her face to look at Lin Xiaofei and finally asked, "Why did you help me? I\'m the one who poisoned your grandfather and yet, you even disobeyed your uncle just to free me from that place? You helped me get even with the princesses."

Lin Xiaofei slowly walked to Fu Xian and stopped just a few steps away from her. She looked at her before the corner of her lips curved into a mockingly cod smile.

Then, she said, "What makes you think I\'m helping you?"
