The Birth Of A Villainess

Chapter 9 - Her Stupidity

"Young Miss is really great!" Bai Lu raised her thumbs at her after leaving the premises of the East Courtyard.

They were on their way back to Yang Hua courtyard, where Lin Xiaofei lived.

Lin Xiaofei looked at her and only hummed her response. She didn\'t want to accept their praises in a single battle that wasn\'t even that difficult as what she experienced in her past life, but she didn\'t want to dampen her maid\'s moods and didn\'t say anything.

Compared to how she and the other concubines in Fourth Prince\'s Residence fought like stray cats on the road, Song Yan Yi wouldn\'t be such a big problem to her.

Song Yan Yi might go against her and try to do something behind her back but Lin Xiaofei wouldn\'t let Son Yan Yi\'s plans bloom before it even started.

Ever since she became Lin Xiaofei, she had the understanding that most of the Lin family members didn\'t like Lin Xiaofei and wanted her to be out of the family, but because of Lin Xiaomeng, they couldn\'t do anything but wait for the right time to throw her away.

However, now that Xiaofei has overall control of Lin Xiaofei\'s body. How could she let anyone bully her?

She grew up in a poor family and unlike how nobles used to guard one\'s tongue and be observant of how they spoke, Lin Xiaofei didn\'t screen her words with flowers and brocade, but brandished her swords and hammer to strike her enemies.

When she was young, she would protest against the meat butcher and shout in the market like she owned the place. The neighbors would even tolerate her because they were afraid of picking a fight with her.

However, because she fell in love with the handsome and famous Fourth Prince, Yu Fangzhu, Lin Xiaofei decided to become someone she was not and started to learn how noble young ladies act.

She started to bend her own rules and crush her bones to suit Yu Fangzhu\'s tastes in a woman. Her crude manner and way of speaking in the past were gone, she lowered her eyes and head when a guest or madam from a noble family tried to look trouble and kept quiet even when she was being scolded.

Lin Xiaofei wanted to laugh in a burst of rage at her foolishness. For a man, she could go as far as let others step on her.

Seeing the cold glint in Lin Xiaofei\'s eyes, Su Tang worriedly asked, "Did what Second Madam said made Young Miss worry? Young Miss need not worry about it. I\'m sure the Old Master will do something about the engagement and will not let the Chu family break it off "

Su Tang was worried that Song Yan Yi\'s words bothered her young miss. She was just a maid but she clearly understood what the Second Madam\'s words meant. While their young miss was able to fend herself against the Second Madam but what noble young lady wouldn\'t be affected when her engagement will be broken?

Her young miss wasn\'t young anymore. Lin Xiaofei was already at the age where one would already marry but if she loses this engagement, it would be hard to get her married when almost all eligible Di sons were already engaged or won\'t have the desire to marry the infamous Lin Xiaofei.

And if Lin Xiaomeng was able to find a suitable partner, that man wouldn\'t be as good as the Chu family\'s Di son or other high ranking noble sons, but a second rate.

"I\'m not." Lin Xiaofei said and stopped, "I don\'t care about the engagement. The Chu family might be influential but compared to my Lin family, it\'s just a bunch of small fish trying to be in the same water with the sharks."

What does the Chu family think of themselves? Some golden crane that the Lin family would bend their knees and worship?

The details of the Chu family\'s visit weren\'t fully discussed with Song Yan Yi but how could Lin Xiaofei not know their intention?

Don\'t even start with how many years the Chu family hadn\'t seen their future daughter in law, the Chu family\'s Di son might not even remember her face.

"But, if the engagement between young miss and the Di son of the Chu family fell through. Wouldn\'t it be hard for the young miss to find a suitable partner in marriage?" Bai Lu also couldn\'t help it but ask.

She was happy when Lin Xiaofei got Song Yan Yi to swallow her own words but upon thinking about it again, her Young Miss also didn\'t look like she won.

If Lin Xiaofei\'s engagement fell through, what kind of noble Di son would want to marry a young lady whose engagement was broken?

Besides, Lin Xiaofei\'s nasty reputation was already spread all over the Capital and though, she hadn\'t come out in public for three years, the rumors about her weren\'t easy to erase even with time.

The engagement between Lin Xiaofei and the Di son of the Chu family was made when they were still inside their mother\'s womb.

And at that time, no one could foretell that Lin Xiaofei would become a spoiled and arrogant child hence, the Chu family was very happy with the thought of being tied with the great Lin family, they didn\'t say any words to go against it.

But after a few years, Lin Xiaofei became the most well-known miss in the Capital just after the Royal family but not in a good light. She was deemed to be an idiot and rude, lacking the gracefulness and elegance of a young lady from a noble family.

So, how could the Chu family let that kind of future daughter-in-law walk inside their doors?

Won\'t they become the joke in everyone\'s conversation during tea parties? What about the other Di sons in their family? Will their path to becoming a great official be blocked because of a single Lin Xiaofei?

Su Tang frowned when she heard Bai Lu\'s words and got mad, "That is right. The Second Madam already knew of this and made fun of our young miss! She must be laughing loudly in the East Courtyard."

Lin Xiaofei knew all of their worries but the Chu family might give some compensation to Lin Xiaomeng and even propose something just so they could break off the engagement.

They wouldn\'t sacrifice the young generations of their Chu family just to hang on to the big branch of the Lin family whose future might not be as grand and great as before since Lin Feng and Lin Sang decided to take the route of being a literary official in the imperial court.

At this moment, a sudden thought flashed in her mind. She smiled and said, "Let\'s go to the Receiving Hall."
